Jimvy wrote: As for the requests for Victory malt, North Country does not have it....I was a bit surprised, but I didn't see it anywhere in their price list. Victory Malt is a Briess product, and is equivalent to Biscuit malt. Unfortunately, North Country does not carry any brand that produces biscuit malt either. I was hoping to get some Carafoam myself, but North Country does not sell Weyermann products. Put me down for one sack of MFB Special Aromatic.

[quote="Jimvy"]I will have Jeff send out a summary of everyone's order to date later this afternoon, but right now, we only have 20 bags on order (basically half the pallet). Also, we still have half sacks of Maris Otter and Vienna available.
I'll take te Vienna 1/2 sack and if no one else needs it,the Maris Otter also.

Dan I will put you down for the 1/2 sack of maris, but whomever was ordering the 1/2 sack of vienna changed it to a full sack. Let me know if you want anything besides the Maris.

For Star San, there are 4 1g containers per order. So far, I've got:
Tim Hayes John Emke Phil O Rock Harris
I know Terry Matejka was asking for a gallon....are there 3 others that want star stan?? I thought I had at least one more asking, but I can't find it.
I'll ask Jeff to send out another status on the order, but in summary, we have 28 bags on order and 1 4pack of star stan.....still room for 13 more sacks of grain! Need to get the order in by this Wednesday!

If possible I would like to sell a 1/4 of the sack off. I don't necessary need a full 1/2 sack. But I will take it if no one else wants the quarter sack.

I'm posting in regards to mine and Johne5's order. Drop the Caramunich that we're clearly not going to get a second half order. (Still keeping the Starsan)
Anyone else looking to buy Crystal Malt? We don't want a whole bag, preferably 10-20 lbs. We can be flexible on Lovibond, 60 is prime though.
How many more bags are available before the order is full?

How many more bags are available before the order is full? Sorry, I don't recognize the tag....real name please? I confirm that I have John down for 1g starsan. I don't think I have the caramunich down so no worries there. We have 1 bag of carastan 30-40, but it's full. You might check with the guys that have this and see if they are willing to part with some (Gary R .5, Tim H .25, and Jim L .25). We have room for 5 more bags at this point.

Real Name: Chris Emke Brother: John Emke
We brew together so what's his/mine doesn't matter for purposes here. What's Carastan vs other Crystal Malts? We generally need only a pound or two (max) of crystal per batch so we don't want anything overwhelming. If you experienced folk say that it's interchangable, I/We'd go for 0.25 of one or buy 10 pounds off of someone.

Chris Thanks Chris. And yes, Carastan is a crystal malt....it's a british crystal, which will give you a slightly different flavor than say a belgian or american crystal, but I'd say they are interchangeable for the most part. Not sure if any of the carastan guys are willing to give up any....if so, they'll post here. If not, I'll check my inventory tomorrow and see if I need to join you in the crystal. Tim - thanks, I got you down.

I am a big fan of Carastan. I use it instead of Crystal 40. I think it adds another dimension to the flavor of a beer over a regular crystal malt. I also like Special B instead of Crystal 120 for the same reason.

Thanks for the information about the different grains. I'll remember both Carastan and Special B as options as I need them for different styles.

Order has been placed. I will have Jeff send out the final pricing after I receive the invoice and break it down.
Also, I went ahead and ordered 2 extra bags of 2-row and 1 extra bag of wheat to fill the pallet order. If anyone needs, please feel to buy a bag at the meeting (I don't really want to take them home).
Thanks! Jim
